The era of the Lexus LC is coming to an end. The coupe and convertible will be discontinued at the end of August 2026. This became known from an official letter to dealers that appeared online, and was also confirmed by a Lexus representative.

The Lexus LC500 will be produced until the end of the 2026 model year. Lexus noted that they regularly review their lineup to ensure it meets demand and brand strategy. During its entire production time, since the coupe’s debut in 2018, more than 15,000 cars have been sold in the US (as of December 2025).

The LC appeared as a coupe with a V8 5.0 engine and a hybrid version, the LC500h. The latter was discontinued after the 2025 model year, although it also appeared on the convertible, which was released in 2021. Over the years, the model also received several limited Inspiration Series versions with unique design and improvements.

With the departure of the LC, the Lexus brand is finally bidding farewell to its last V8. In the future, the role of flagship sports car is expected to be taken by the production version of the Lexus LFA concept; however, it will be fully electric and no longer have the characteristic sound of eight cylinders.
