The record was set at the Centro Dinámico Pegaso test track in the Mexican city of Toluca. The race was conducted according to a certified protocol under the supervision of independent experts: telemetry recorded driving parameters, engineers checked the vehicle before and after the test, and the length of the track was precisely measured.
The vehicle was driven by a certified driver. The trip lasted more than six hours with an average speed of 50-60 km/h, and the gasoline engine was not started.
A key role was played by the 39.6 kWh traction battery, protected by IP68 standard and equipped with a thermal regulation system. Additionally, aerodynamics influenced the result - the aerodynamic drag coefficient of the model is declared to be below 0.30.
In the serial version, Lynk Co 08 claims up to 200 km of electric range according to the WLTP cycle. The powertrain combines a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine and an electric motor, with a total power of 346 hp. Modes Pure, Hybrid, and Power are provided.
Lynk Co emphasizes that the record does not reflect everyday operation but demonstrates the potential of modern plug-in hybrid systems and sets a new benchmark for the segment of partially electrified SUVs.
