The discount amounts to 100,000 yuan (14,610 USD) compared to the recommended retail price of 238,800 yuan (34,890 USD). Thus, the manufacturer wants to attract buyers amid declining sales.
The special offer has been in effect since February and applies to existing customers who repurchase the model. According to the company and dealers, the promotion is limited to 1,000 cars.
According to GAC Group, GAC Honda sold 4,558 cars last month, down 69.86% compared to January last year. By the end of 2025, sales amounted to 351,900 units, which is 25.22% less than in 2024. In comparison, the electric brand within the group — GAC Aion — sold 21,600 cars in January (+171.63%).
Price adjustments have affected other Japanese JVs in China as well. GAC Toyota offered temporary discounts of up to 22,000 yuan (3,210 USD) on the Wildlander crossover, as well as additional bonuses under the trade-in program. Dongfeng Nissan announced discounts of up to 21,000 yuan (3,070 USD) on the updated Teana sedan and up to 10,000 yuan (1,460 USD) on the compact Sylphy as part of promotional campaigns.
GAC Honda stated that the promotion is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Accord model. Information on further production plans after the allocated quota is not disclosed.
