Alfa Romeo revives the racing academy under the leadership of Scuderia de Adamich to train drivers at a professional level.

Alfa Romeo decided to remind the world that their cars are not only made to look good parked outside a cafe. The company announced the relaunch of the Alfa Romeo Driving Academy. This is a serious driver training program based at the Varano de' Melegari racetrack, located in the heart of Italy's 'Motor Valley.'

Return to racing heritage

The collaboration with the Scuderia de Adamich school is a restoration of a long-standing friendship that began back in 1991. Andrea de Adamich, a former Formula 1 driver, once created one of the most respected driving schools in Italy. Now, this experience once again becomes part of the brand's ecosystem, offering private clients and corporate groups the opportunity to experience the technique in its natural environment - on the racetrack.

Four steps to mastery

The academy offers four levels of training, allowing you to gradually increase the pace without unnecessary risk. The program includes the following stages:

  • Guida Sicura (Safe Driving) - basic level, where you learn how to work with brakes correctly, understand grip limits, and control the car in critical situations.
  • Guida Evoluta (Evolutionary Driving) - transition to more dynamic exercises for those who have already mastered the basics.
  • Guida Sportiva (Sport Driving) - this is where the real thrill begins with learning trajectories and high-speed maneuvers.
  • Guida Avanzata (Advanced Driving) - the final stage, where work is done at the extreme limits of the car and driver.

Interestingly, the academy's fleet is not limited to only track bolides. Students have access to the entire modern line-up of the brand: from the compact crossover Junior and the hybrid Tonale to recognized benchmarks of handling - the Giulia sedan and the Stelvio crossover.

Philosophy of control by Santo Ficili

Alfa Romeo's CEO, Santo Ficili, notes that for the brand, it's important not just to sell fast cars but to teach people to enjoy them safely.

The Driving Academy project is also closely linked with the BOTTEGAFUORISERIE initiative, where Alfa Romeo and Maserati are working on new standards of personalization and customer experience.
