MLRS "Partizan" is a reduced version of a rocket-propelled grenade launcher that fires one, two or four shells. Directing the pipes for it is dismantled from the trophy MLRS "Grad" of the Russian army.

Surviving and technically sound equipment of the Russians, the Ukrainian military, in the presence of appropriate ammunition, usually use against their former owners. However, most of the enemy's equipment obtained in battle was partially burned or damaged by shrapnel elements and therefore not suitable for full use. Nevertheless, Ukrainian artillerymen have found a way to transform the damaged MLRS into a miniature system "Partizan" (eng. "Partisan" or "Guerilla"), which is installed on the chassis of civil transport.

The Ukrainian military dismantles the guide tubes of MLRS "Grad", and then welds them to a mobile tripod or directly on the frame of the pickup. Such homemade rocket-propelled grenade launchers are used by artillerymen and even ordinary infantry.

"If a large-caliber mortar can fire a maximum of 7 kilometers, then" Partizan "is able to overcome up to 20 kilometers. In essence, this installation consists of a guide tube from the "Grad" and the corresponding projectile. "A panorama of Hertz, an artilleryman's optical device, is also being installed on Partizan," - said Andriy Moruga, an artillery instructor from the "Come Back Alive" Foundation.

The military also calls the "Partizan" a pill because this miniature artillery works like a headache pill when it suppresses enemy fire. "Partizan" is useful to small units, such as reconnaissance groups and infantry platoons.

"It often happens that, say, a company base is fired upon by an enemy self-propelled artillery installation. This weapon works at a distance of 11-14 kilometers, so it is impossible to aim at it with a mortar, which is armed in the company - it simply will not get. Brigade artillery, as a rule, does not deal with one ACS, because it has more important goals to practice. And here "Partizan" comes to the rescue. Even if its projectile falls 100 meters from the ACS and does not kill the enemy, it will force the Russians to redeploy - thus saving the lives of our military", - Moruga added.
