The Toyota Compact Cruiser EV is a compact electric SUV concept. But what happens if you cut off part of the body and make a pickup truck?

Sketches of a hypothetical pickup truck created Thanos Pappas for Carscoops. The author claims that they have nothing to do with Toyota and are not approved by it.

The hypothetical pickup has the same body proportions as the real Toyota Cruiser EV, which was first unveiled in December 2021 and revealed in more detail in June 2022.

The pickup has a small cargo platform instead of a closed trunk. It is assumed that the main version will have a double cab, and for those who need a workhorse, they will offer a modification with a single cab.

Toyota designers chose a two-tone body design for the SUV, so they did something similar for the pickup truck with a dark rear. In addition to cutting off part of the roof, the car received "suicidal" rear doors.

The two-tone tailgate can serve as a camper seating area or a work surface with outlets for any equipment, just like on the Ford F-150 Lightning. For adventurers who need to carry more luggage, a dedicated roof rack will do.

Specifications for the actual Toyota Compact Cruiser EV SUV concept have yet to be revealed, except that it should be shorter than 4.5m (177 inches). A pickup truck can be just as small.

Whether Toyota itself wants to turn the Compact Cruiser EV into a pickup truck is not yet known. To begin with, we need to wait at least for an SUV, which should happen before 2030.
