The Lithuanian Air Force brought a Bayraktar TB2 UAV with weapons to Lithuania. Soon it will be handed over to the Ukrainian army.

Drone received designation Vanagas, which translates from Lithuanian as "Hawk". This instance of Bayraktar TB2 Turkey handed over to Lithuania free of charge for subsequent transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Together with the UAV, Lithuania will transfer ammunition to Ukraine.

The history of the Hawk began in May, when Lithuanian Andrius Tapinas announced a public fundraiser to buy a drone to protect Ukraine from Russia.

The required amount - almost six million euros - was collected in just three days.

When the fundraising ended, the Turkish company Baykar (manufacturer of TB2) announced that the drone will give for free. Baykar offered to transfer the collected funds to Ukraine for humanitarian purposes.
