Drone received designation Vanagas, which translates from Lithuanian as "Hawk". This instance of Bayraktar TB2 Turkey handed over to Lithuania free of charge for subsequent transfer to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The history of the Hawk began in May, when Lithuanian Andrius Tapinas announced a public fundraiser to buy a drone to protect Ukraine from Russia.
The required amount - almost six million euros - was collected in just three days.
When the fundraising ended, the Turkish company Baykar (manufacturer of TB2) announced that the drone will give for free. Baykar offered to transfer the collected funds to Ukraine for humanitarian purposes.
Bayraktar TB2 is an attack tactical mid-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle with a long flight duration, equipped with an internal combustion engine and an automatic takeoff and landing system. The body of the UAV is made of composite materials.
