The UK has handed over to Ukraine six units of Stormer HVM anti-aircraft missile systems for air defense of troops at short distances and heights.

On the transfer of Stormer HVM systems to Ukraine reported British Ministry of Defense.

In addition, hundreds of Starstreak missiles for these mobile complexes have been transferred. The Ukrainian military is already familiar with such missiles from portable anti-aircraft missile systems.

Stormer HVM is a British air defense system based on a modified Alvis Stormer armored personnel carrier chassis with a diesel engine. The system is equipped with Starstreak HVM or Martlet LMM rocket launchers. It has a panoramic (all-aspect) sight and an air threat warning system for recognizing targets and determining their priority.

Eight anti-aircraft missiles are placed in launch containers. In addition, the Stormer HVM can carry an additional 12 missiles for reloading.

Designed to protect against helicopters and aircraft flying at low altitude. In addition, it can shoot down drones. 

The Stormer HVM crew consists of three people - commander, driver and gunner. The maximum speed is 80 km / h, and the cruising range is 600 km.
