Airborne assault troops use Husky TSV armored vehicles to transport personnel to forward positions, as well as to evacuate the wounded.
“These qualities of the Husky are fully demonstrated in the area of tasks in the Kherson region, where the soldiers of the air assault troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine step by step liberate their native land from Russian invaders,” reported command of the Airborne assault troops of Ukraine Armed Forces.
The military also said they needed more of these armored vehicles. This would allow Ukrainian troops to move forward faster.
Ukraine has received an undisclosed number of Husky TSVs from the UK as aid to counter Russian occupying forces.
The Husky TSV (Tactical Support Vehicle) is a highly mobile all-wheel drive support vehicle introduced in 2006 and based on the International MXT truck chassis from Navistar Defense.
The Husky is designed to protect personnel from light weapons and mines while on patrol missions. It is produced in three versions - an off-road vehicle for patrolling, an ambulance and a command vehicle.
