The Turkish company Baykar did not abandon the idea of launching a factory for the production of modern military drones in Ukraine.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar reported that last week the government of Ukraine approved and sent to the parliament for ratification a bilateral agreement on the construction of the Baykar plant.

A significant part of the models that will be produced at this plant will be equipped with Ukrainian-made components. Vasyl Bodnar suggested that it could be engines, wheels and other components.

"Both before the war (Russia with Ukraine, ed.), and now the field of defense technologies is one of the drivers of our (Ukraine-Turkey, ed.) relations. Despite the war, our companies continue to fulfill their obligations. Maybe not in such volumes as it was planned, but they do not leave this work, and it also shows how responsible a partner we are, which does not leave the Turkish side alone with its problems, primarily in the supply of those things that are needed for their defense. , - said the Ukrainian diplomat in interview to RBC-Ukraine.

There is currently no information on possible dates for the start of construction of the plant. Starting from February 24, 2022, Russia launches missile strikes on civilian and military targets in almost all regions of Ukraine. It is extremely difficult to build a new enterprise in such conditions.
