Smart Automobile and Brabus have unveiled a sporty version of the #1 crossover. This is the first all-wheel drive Smart car.

The Brabus Smart #1 is a sporty version of the Smart #1 electric crossover that debuted in April and will hit the Chinese market this September.

This car differs from the standard model in a more aggressive design. Two horizontal slots were added to the panel between the headlights, bumpers were changed, a large spoiler was installed above the fifth door, and other linings were placed on the doors. The wheels are also different, the Smart #1 Brabus has 19-inch wheels.

Distinctive interior features: red seat belts, microfiber sports seats, metal pedals, illuminated Brabus logo on the steering wheel and other original elements.

More importantly, Smart #1 Brabus got two electric motors. At the rear, the standard 272 hp engine was retained, and an additional 156 hp unit was added at the front. The total power of the system reached 428 hp, however, the mass of the car increased by almost 100 kg - up to 1900 kg.

A regular Smart #1 is equipped with a 66 kWh unit and in the Chinese CLTC certification cycle travels 560 km on a single charge. There is no information about the traction battery of the Brabus version yet. But it is known that in the most aggressive mode called "Brabus" such a crossover can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.7 seconds. Top speed is limited to 180 km/h.

The first people in China will be able to buy the new Smart #1 Brabus this fall. Later, cars will be delivered to other countries. Pricing has yet to be announced, but the base car in Pure+ trim costs 194,200 yuan ($28,750).
