The Mi-2 AM-1 is capable of transporting two seriously wounded and three doctors or cargo weighing up to 1,200 kg over a distance of up to 600 km and at a speed of up to 200 km/h. This will make it possible to quickly transport those for whom every minute is critical, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine reported.
According to medics who were also present at the first test flight of the Mi-2 AM-1, this helicopter has everything necessary for evacuating the wounded. Inside, everything is arranged so that all devices are at hand: a ventilator, a monitor, a device that monitors the work of the heart, etc. Such a helicopter will help increase the chances of saving a person.
"We want to thank the citizens of more than 110 countries of the world who joined the gathering through the UNITED24 fundraising platform. Thanks to this, many lives will be saved. The first reviews of the military and medics about the helicopter are very positive, so we are considering the possibility of purchasing a few more Mi-2s," said Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine
MI-2 AM-1 is a Ukrainian-made multipurpose helicopter. The cost of the car, which was purchased thanks to the UNITED24 project, was 23.4 million hryvnias (US$633,790).
Fundraising platform UNITED24 initiated by the President of Ukraine. In three months of operation, UNITED24 raised more than 170 million dollars. The largest donors of the platform are citizens of the USA, Germany, France, Great Britain and Canada. Funds are deposited into the accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine and directed by relevant ministries to the most important needs in three areas: "Medical assistance", "Defense and demining" and "Reconstruction of Ukraine".
