It's looking more and more likely that we could see a production version of the DeLorean Alpha2 as company boss Joost de Vries told Top Gear magazine that a small batch of road-going cars is being considered.

A new concept car was unveiled in late July - a low-slung coupe with a curvaceous body and V8 engine of unknown specs. After its debut, DMC received requests from people eager to buy the real thing.

And now DeLorean boss Joost de Vries told Top Gear magazine:

"We had so many requests for [Alpha2] to be made, so we'll probably do a very small run."

According to DMC's head, the "Alpha2 was born out of a DeLorean project called the DMC-24 that never made it into production. It's an open-top coupe with a V8 engine, and it was the logical evolution to the DMC-12." Joost de Vries explains that when they revived the automaker, they commissioned Italdesign to create a sports car representing 1990s culture but with contemporary features.

No one knows for sure if the street-legal cars will have a V8, but only time will tell. The company didn't give any details about price or availability yet, but we'll make sure to keep you updated. So, if you're a fan of the DeLorean, stay tuned!
