Jeep took a cute tradition that emerged during the pandemic to the next level by bringing a giant rubber duck to the Detroit Auto Show.

Jeep owners have been leaving rubber duckies with heartfelt messages on them for each other to find since the pandemic started. Ducking began in Canada and has now spread to America as a method of spreading happiness during a bad period.

The North American International Auto Show is coming back to Detroit and, for the first time ever, it will be held outdoors. To celebrate, Jeep has decided to enchant people with the world's largest duck.

The duck will be present for the entirety of the Detroit auto show at Huntington Place & Hart Plaza. It is six stories tall (61 ft/18.5 m), 69 ft wide (21 m), and 79 ft (24 m) across, making it the world's largest duck; weighing 8,000 lbs (3,629 kg).

On the opening weekend, duck owners who come to the park will receive a free (adequately sized) rubber duck as a gift. In addition, visitors to the duck will be able to enjoy an extra special treat. Detroit's own Milk & Froth Ice Cream has developed three Jeep brand-inspired ice cream flavors to be handed out during the first weekend of the auto show (Friday, September 16 - Sunday, September 18) while supplies last.

Attendees who register to participate in any Stellantis experience at the Detroit Auto Show are automatically entered for a chance to win a $100,000 voucher toward an eligible Jeep brand vehicle from Stellantis. A winner will be randomly selected in 2023.
