What do you get when you take a Dacia and put an electric engine in it? According to the latest Manifesto Concept reveal, you get an off-road vehicle with a plastic body and a washable interior.

The Manifesto is a wild new idea from Dacia, Renault's low-cost subsidiary for basic transportation. It's an unusual concept vehicle that will never be built, but the Romanian company claims the electric showcar demonstrates its commitment to outdoor lovers.

There are no "filters" between the passengers and the environment - no doors, no windows, no windshield. Passengers can also be close to nature and at the same time remain connected with the services available on their smartphone: Dacia's Bring-Your-Own-Device approach makes it possible to fully integrate a smartphone into the dashboard and on-board computer. This system is already available on several of the brand's models and will evolve further in the future.

It uses only one powerful headlight instead of two. But, more interestingly, the headlight can be detached and used as a flashlight.

The interior is easy to clean, and the seat covers can be removed and transformed into a sleeping bag. To make it even more versatile, Dacia engineered a modular roof with removable bars. And if that wasn't enough, there's also a removable battery pack that turns the Manifesto into an external power source - much like some of today's electric vehicles that have bidirectional charging capabilities.

The exterior panels of the Manifesto are from recycled plastic, and its interior uses cork on the dashboard, among other neat features. Airless tires mean you won't have to worry about punctures while you're in the middle of nowhere. With meaty all-terrain tires and a massive ground clearance, the Manifesto can go anywhere - just like a buggy.

"Manifesto concept is not a future model: it is a statement about the brand's aim to stand by customers as they become ever keener on outdoor pursuits, while expanding the values and qualities that have built Dacia vehicles' success", Dacia claimed.

Although it would be amazing for Dacia to release a product like the Manifesto, the brand is more focused on offering some of the most affordable cars available.

The current Dacia models available are the Sandero hatchback, Logan sedan, Jogger compact MPV, and Duster crossover.
