The Boulder is a sleek teardrop prototype designed with electric vehicle owners in mind. It's battery pack can quickly charge any EV, and its aerodynamic design makes it modern and efficient.
The trailer has a 75KwH battery system in the floor. According to Colorado Teardrops, the system is capable of Level 3 fast charging and should add 100 miles of range to an EV in 10 minutes. It will take 80 minutes to recharging to 80 percent capacity. A J1772 connector can also be used for level 1 charging.
Colorado Teardrops suggests that The Boulder can greatly improve a vehicle's range, or act as an equal to the gas it would use. When the power in the trailer battery dies, you have the option of charging it like any other electric car.

How much does it weigh? The frame of the cabin is made from aluminum, with a powder-coated steel frame as its base. The listed dry weight is 2,200 pounds-which isn't extremely heavy but does weigh several hundred pounds more than most teardrop trailers. That's still light enough for towing behind all but the tiniest EVs, and it has a 3,500-pound axle, allowing for modifications.
Don't forget that this is a camper, not simply a towable charging station. The Boulder features a queen-size bed inside and two small bunks above. Two adults and two children can fit inside, and during non-sleeping times, the interior space becomes a dining area with seats around the table. The rear contains an outside galley with fold-out shelves and a work surface for cooking.
In addition to the standard features, this model also comes with under-floor storage. Heating and air conditioning systems, propane, hot water, solar panels, an awning system are all available as extras.
Colorado Teardrops has a working prototype that can be seen in the photo gallery above. The production version will cost $55,000 and should be available in early 2023. The company is now taking reservations.
