Today, BMW unveiled the XM, the first M-car with an electrified powertrain and an output of 653 hp. But the news does not end there, because the Bavarians also announced the most powerful M-model in history, which is called the XM Label Red.

The most powerful road-legal series-produced car in the history of BMW M will summon up system output of 550 kW/748 hp. Generated by the combination of the combustion engine with up to 430 kW/585 hp and the electric drive system with up to 145 kW/197 hp) and maximum system torque of 1,000 Nm/737 lb-ft (generated by the combination of the combustion engine with up to 750 Nm [553 lb-ft] and the electric drive system with up to 280 Nm [206 lb-ft]).

So far, that's all the information BMW has released about XM Label Red. However, it is safe to say that this SUV will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) faster than the standard XM. The latter performs this exercise in 4.3 seconds.

The BMW XM Label Red will be added to the model range in autumn 2023.
