Mercedes has been spotted testing a new E-Class wagon in public, and it looks like the company is planning to release a successor to its popular wagon model.

The E-Class wagon, or the long-roof model, has the same styling as the sedan but with obvious differences on the back end. As expected, on the outside, it will appear just like a shrunken Mercedes-Benz S-Class, with evolutionary changes on the previous version. The car's grille will become smaller, and the headlights will be slimmer. The back end will also receive the same design care. In sum, the next-generation E-Class, in sedan or wagon form, will look more sleeker than the fifth-generation W213 model.

Although we don't have a video of the interior, we suspect it will be similar to what we've seen before. It's worth mentioning that the interior spy shots showed a dual-screen setup like what is seen in the S-Class. As for those who are waiting for the next-generation E-Class, they can expect state of the art driver-assist features from Mercedes Benz.

The next-generation W214 E-Class has not yet been announced, although we anticipate its launch toward the end of the year.
