Production of the electric pickup named Endurance has begun at the Foxconn EV Ohio plant. This appears to put an end to the lengthy debate over the new brand's fate, despite the fact that the company-new maker remains very reliant on supply of components.

The first two commercial release production Endurance vehicles from Lordstown have rolled off the production line, with the third one expected to be done soon, Lordstown announced. These vehicles are part of the first batch of up to 500 vehicles that the company intends to build.

"We will continue to build at a slow rate as we address remaining part pedigree and part availability issues. We expect to increase the speed of production into November and December," said Edward Hightower, Lordstown CEO and President. "Our homologation and certification processes are proceeding as planned."

Lordstown Motors originally planned to produce the Endurance in 2020, but as we can see now, that date has been pushed back. The electric pickup truck has four in-wheel hub motors that deliver 4-wheel drive and produce 600 horsepower. The EPA range is 250 miles (400 km) with a battery capacity of 109 kWh.

The 2023 Lordstown Endurance's price was supposed to begin at $52,500 MSRP before federal tax credits, but since the pickup has been delayed many times, it's unclear if this starting price will remain as is. Some sources indicate an MSRP price of $60,375.
