Two NHL teams are currently in Europe for back-to-back games to open the 2022-23 regular season. San Jose Sharks and Nashville Predators will duel on Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8 in Prague at the O2 Arena.
Škoda has been a long-time hockey supporter, having been an official partner of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship since 1992. For the NHL's ninth visit to Europe, two of its SUVs will be dressed up as mascots. They are called Prediaq and Sharyaq. At first glance, these are truly impressive creations, but by the second glance, everyone will already recognize the proven basics in the form of two Škoda models, namely the Kodiaq and Enyaq iV.
"We wanted to go the way of two similar models in terms of size and we also wanted a contrast between purely electric and conventional drive," says Vítězslav Pelc from Mladá Boleslav, who was responsible for the transformation of the cars into unconventional team mascots.

The cars honour the team colours - Prediaq is predominantly yellow like the Predators' jerseys, Sharyaq is black and blue like the Sharks.

In addition to the colourful decals, they are also decorated with 3D elements. It consists of polyurethane foam layered in varying hardness so that the fins, tail, and mane can "wiggle naturally".
