The first Hopium Machina prototype was presented two years ago. Since then, the French company has improved the prototype and brought it to the Paris Auto Show.
The hydrogen sedan be refilled in just three minutes and is used to generate electricity, which can be stored in the small batteries that are used to power the electric motors providing a range of up to 1,000 km or 620 miles. The motors generate 500 hp (368 kW), and allow the car to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than five seconds.

The Hopium plant in Vernon, France is expected to be able to produce 20,000 vehicles per year, but it is not expected to be up and running until the beginning of 2025. Even though the company is starting to accept reservations for €656 ($649), they are doing it as a reference to the atomic wavelength of hydrogen.
The automaker estimates that the car will cost €120,000 ($118,134), but it says that prices are subject to change without notice.
