Mazda North American Operations today announces pricing and packaging for the 2023 Mazda CX-30. For 2023, the naturally aspirated Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter engine has been improved in both performance and efficiency. Compared to the 2022 model year, this engine has an increase of five horsepower and two miles per gallon in each of the EPA estimated figures of city, highway, and combined.
The naturally aspirated engine is now capable of 191 horsepower and, with updated cylinder-deactivation technology, provides up to an EPA estimated rating of 26 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway, and 29 mpg combined. These performance and efficiency figures are achieved with any fuel grade. All-wheel drive continues to be standard for the CX-30, which was a change Mazda made last year.

Safety features and crash performance are also improved for 2023. Mazda says it's added rear side airbags and rear seat belt pre-tensioners. The B-pillar and C-pillar performance in crashes is said to be improved, and new shin pads are added to the front and rear door trims. The CX-30 has won the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award for 2022 and Mazda is working to ensure it keeps the designation in 2023.
The CX-30 Turbo has the same mechanical features as before. However, Mazda has stopped making the less expensive Turbo trim. The new starting point is the Turbo Premium. The Turbo Premium is priced at $35,075, including the $1,275 destination charge. That's a $700 increase over the 2022 model year Turbo Premium and a $3,300 increase over last year's base Turbo.
The S model, which comes with the naturally aspirated engine, starts at $24,225 for 2023-just a $450 price increase from last year. Mazda has not yet announced an official launch date, but the 2023 Mazda CX-30 is expected to be available for purchase soon.
