The new BMW M5 is continuing to unveil its secrets, and now we have a sneak peek of the inside cabin.

The M5 has undergone a extreme makeover, including an all-new flat-bottom steering wheel with colorful contrast stitching. Thinner spokes and new switchgear are also apparent changes. The new console looks familiar yet it features an array of fresh controls. It's difficult to make out the details, but we can see a sleek shifter and a more contemporary iDrive controller. They're accompanied by buttons with gloss black trim and red accents, which are reminiscent of those found on the current model.

We can see an aggressive grille on the outside, similar to what is found on the M4 CSL. The sports sedan also has vertical air curtains and new headlights. The sportyfront fascia leads to an evolutionary profile, which includes a charging port on the driver's side front fender. The lightweight wheels are a great addition to this car and the high-performance braking system ensures that you can stop safely. The sporty side skirts, rear spoiler, and four-tailpipe exhaust system add to the overall look of the car.

The 2024 BMW M5 will be a high-performance plug-in hybrid, as evident by the charging port. It's powertrain is set to mirror that of the XM and include features such as a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine, an electric motor, and a small lithium-ion battery pack. The combined output of the crossover is 644 hp (480 kW / 653 PS) with 590 lb-ft (799 Nm) of torque. It also has an electric-only range of 48 km (30 miles).

The new generation BMW M5 will arrive sometime in 2023 as a 2024 model. For the first time since the E61 M5, there will also be a Touring bodystyle, which means BMW will finally have something to go against the Audi RS6 Avant and the Mercedes-AMG E63 S Wagon. The Touring version will be launched 6 to 12 months later, probably for 2025.
