Honda announced the US pricing for the 2023 Civic Type R

The all-new 2023 Civic Type R is now available at Honda dealers. This is the most powerful and highest-performing Honda production vehicle ever sold in America. It has a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $42,895, plus $1,095 Destination Charge.

Honda first revealed the new Civic Type R in July. But it didn't give away all the details. A month later, Honda announced its horsepower and torque numbers. But pricing remained a mystery until now.

The 2023 Civic Type R will start at $43,990 and will come with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 315 horsepower (235 kilowatts) and 310 pound-feet (420 Newton-meters) of torque. The only transmission available for this model will be a six-speed manual.

The car is available in five colors. If you choose Sonic Gray Pearl, Championship White, or Boost Blue Pearl, it will be an extra $395. The two other colors are Crystal Black and Rallye Red. Optional 19-inch forged alloy wheels come at an extra $3,100, a carbon-fiber wing will set you back another $2,250, and for Alcantara steering wheel it's an additional cost of $400. Standard on all models are matte-black 19-inch wheels.

The price of the last Civic Type R started a little under $39,000. Therefore, the 2023 model is almost $5,000 pricier.
