Former VW-exec officially unveils his electric car brand BeyonCa and the GT Opus 1 concept car

The company's name, "BeyonCa," was chosen to represent its mission to "Go beyond the Car". The company was founded by Weimin Soh, former executive vice president of Volkswagen China.

BeyonCa was founded in 2021 by Soh, who spent 16 years at Volkswagen and also served as CEO of Renault China. The Gran Turismo Opus 1 (GT Opus 1), BeyonCa's first concept car, has been endorsed by strategic investors, including Dongfeng Motor. The vehicle is defined by a sporty exterior design and its dynamic logo that is shaped in a V on the front end.

Technical details of the GT Opus 1 concept car have not yet been disclosed. The company specified only that it focuses on health, bringing together a team of experienced doctors, automotive engineers, and software and data engineers to create an eco-service for health HaaS (Health as a Service). That's why a smart cabin with real-time health monitoring is expected in the car.

According to Chinese media, the production version of the GT Opus 1 will cost about 138 thousand U.S. dollars. Production is scheduled to start in 2024.
