The IAA auto exhibition changed locations and shifted its focus for 2021, but apparently the change was well-received because in 2023 it will return to a similar format.

Traditionally, every two years you could go to Frankfurt to see the latest cars from the major automakers. But in 2021, the International Mobility Show (in German known as the Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung or IAA) moved to Munich and was renamed to IAA Mobility. The show changed its name, location, and also had a more focus on different types of transportation. This will also be true in 2023.

The IAA Mobility show will take place in Munich from September 5 to 10, 2023. This event will focus on everything related to the topic of mobility, including electric scooters, self-driving vans, electric cars, and shared bicycles.

"With IAA Mobility 2021, we have successfully completed the transformation to a mobility platform. Our exhibitors will continue to present a range of connected and sustainable mobility solutions on this platform in 2023. Our goal is to make this global innovative power tangible for all target groups at the IAA MOBILITY - because an innovation is only established when it is used by the majority of society. At the same time, we want to promote discourse and active exchange between different stakeholders. That's why we also very deliberately chose our motto for IAA MOBILITY 2023: Experience Connected Mobility," says Jürgen Mindel, Managing Director VDA.

So even in 2023, it will no longer be a trade fair at which car manufacturers have the floor almost entirely to themselves. Still, some big names are there: Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Porsche and Volkswagen have already confirmed their presence, organizers report.
