Ford has issued a recall for select 2021-2022 F-150 trucks. If the front windshield wiper motor fails, the wipers will become inoperable, which increases the risk of accidents. The total number of affected trucks is 453,650.

Although Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue, the automaker did say that 1,378 warranty reports have come in from customers globally about windshield wipers that either don't work at all or only work sometimes.

Ford will reach out to customers with the impacted trucks via notification letters. Customers can then take their vehicles into dealerships for a complimentary replacement of the front windshield wiper motor.

Vehicles built at Dearborn Truck Plant from May 3, 2021, through September 10, 2021, are excluded from this population as those units were built with a different wiper motor design (due to the microchip shortages at the time) that is not susceptible to this concern.
