Electric vehicles offer several advantages for Domino's pizza stores. These include long battery life that can allow for multiple days of deliveries, zero emissions from the vehicle, advanced safety features, and lower average maintenance costs than those of traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
Electric fleet vehicles also provide more opportunity to attract delivery drivers who don't have a car of their own. Today, Domino's already delivers with electric bikes and/or scooters in 24 international markets, including the U.S.
"We're excited that Domino's has chosen the Chevrolet Bolt EV to build their electric pizza delivery fleet in the U.S.," said Ed Peper, vice president of GM Fleet. "Both companies are committed to bettering our environment. GM plans to eliminate tailpipe emissions from new U.S. light duty vehicles by 2035. With an affordable price, fun driving characteristics, and a 259-mile range, the Chevy Bolt EV is the future of Domino's electrified deliveries."
The 2023 Chevy Bolt is available in two trim levels-1LT and 2LT. It uses a 65KWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers a single motor with 200 horsepower (or 150KW); the combination drives the front wheels with 266lb-ft of torque.
The Bolt is available with a dual-level charging cord that plugs into both 120V and 240V outlets. With Level 2 charging, the battery can be fully refilled in about 10 hours. Meanwhile, for each hour of charging using a 120V outlet, the Bolt gets four miles of range. A DC fast-charge capability adds up to 100 miles of range after about 30 minutes of charging.
The 1LT trim starts at $25,600. The 2LT trim starts at $28,800.
