The subcompact SUV will no longer be available in the US market by the end of the current generation’s product cycle, even though Europe will receive a new one.

The news was confirmed by Fiat CEO, Olivier Francois. Speaking to Motor Trend about the future of the Fiat 500X, he said: "When it dies, it dies. We will not replace it", leaving no room for speculation.

The Fiat 500X, closely related to the Jeep Renegade, was first introduced in 2014 and received a facelift in 2018. Although its cheeky design has aged well, the Italian SUV is running out of time to gain customer interest in America.

The next generation of the Fiat 500X is rumored to debut in Europe by 2025. It is said to come with electrified powertrains, more tech features, a new platform, and a larger footprint that will put it into the compact SUV category.

The 500x will most likely not have a replacement in the United States. In the next few years, Fiat's plans are to keep only their new electric car, the 500e.
