BMW cars are now able to pay for parking, currently available in Germany and Austria
Are you tired of fumbling for coins to pay the parking meter? Well, good news- if you have a BMW with Operating System 7 or 8, you can now use your infotainment system to pay parking fees in Germany and Austria! This service will roll out to other countries soon.
The Parking Payment function makes it easier to park in metered parking areas. When you arrive in a parking area, your car will automatically check to see if the service is available and then bring up the payment option on the screen of your infortainment system.
The per-minute parking fee ends as soon as the customer leaves, and this is also possible through the My BMW app. Under "Services and Shop", customers can manage active bookings, view parking history, and update payment methods.
The new function will be launched in other European countries starting 2023.
