Grinch stole Christmas tree in a 1,000-HP Venom GT500 at 192 mph
Every Christmas, the folks at Hennessey Performance add some unique flare to their festivities by hauling a tree on the roof of one of their cars and driving off into the night. For 2022's season though, rather than joyous yuletide cheer they decided to embrace something more Grinch-like!
All the action took place in the usual spot: the Pennzoil Proving Grounds. Dressed appropriately for the task, to steal Christmas, the Grinch set his eyes on something cool--not just the Hennessey's Christmas tree, but also an Eruption Green Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 equipped with Hennessey's Venom 1000 performance upgrade.
The 5.2-liter V8 engine is capable of producing an astounding 1,000 horsepower - a number that lies in the middle of the 800 hp Mustang GT upgrade and the remarkable Venom 1200 featured on the GT500! This massive power was showcased by achieving speeds of 192 mph (or nearly 310 km/h) with a Christmas tree attached to its roof!
