Take a look at the highly-anticipated next generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class. Spies have caught a glimpse of a prototype on public roads in Germany and have captured all the latest updates in a new video.

Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil the next iteration of its E-Class model, though it won't be happening this year. The company is still hard at work on the vehicle, as evidenced by a recent sighting of a prototype on public roads in Germany. Captured in a video by walkoARTvideos on YouTube, the prototype can be seen sporting less camouflage than previous versions and featuring a lighter body color. Changes to the side profile of the E-Class are clearly visible in the video, including a deviation from the current silhouette and altered character lines. The continuous line that stretches between the headlights and taillights has been interrupted by the middle section, drawing attention to the fenders.

Another design shift that is likely to be seen on the new E-Class is the incorporation of recessed door handles, similar to those on the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The most recent spy video reveals the E-Class fitted with a set of black rims. The front and rear fascias of the prototype are still heavily disguised, suggesting that there will be significant changes in these areas when the final version is launched. It is reasonable to assume that there will be some stylistic nods to the S-Class in the new E-Class.

It goes without saying that the cabin of the next-generation E-Class will also undergo a significant overhaul. Spies have previously caught a glimpse of the interior of a production prototype, which features an entirely new dashboard layout. While some parts were still concealed, the massive center screen was clearly visible, similar to what can be found in the Mercedes EQE. It is rumored that the entire dashboard will be coated in glass, in keeping with the design of other new Mercedes models. According to sources, the new E-Class will come equipped with an 11.9-inch screen, similar to the one found in the C-Class, while the 12.9-inch OLED screen from the S-Class will be offered as an optional feature.

The next iteration of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is expected to be officially unveiled in the first half of 2023, with a likely arrival in showrooms as a 2024 model.
