Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer Roshel has delivered a hundred Senator high-tech armored personnel carriers (APCs) to Ukraine. The latest batch of APCs were distributed to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

This delivery marked the 100th Senator vehicle received by the Ukrainian military as aid from the Canadian government. Another 300 Senator APCs are planned to be delivered to Ukraine.

The Senator is a newly developed armored vehicle, with the first model rolling off the production line in 2018. It is intended for use by law enforcement and border patrol and is based on a Ford F-series chassis. It features advanced heat and noise insulation materials, fully air-conditioned interiors, and protection up to CEN B7 ballistic level, as well as blast protection in the floor to defend against light anti-personnel mines.

Despite not being designed for high-intensity warfare, the Senator was actively used by the Ukrainian military during successful counteroffensives against Russian forces in the east and south of the country. It is praised for its good maneuverability compared to the heavier Ukrainian-made Kozak armored vehicle.
