Tesla Model 3 and Model Y have flush door handles that can get stuck when temperatures drop below freezing and a little condensation turns to ice. Without any protrusions to grab onto, it can be quite difficult to open the doors. In the past, Tesla owners have tried everything from knocking on the handles to using hairdryers to melt the ice, but a new stick-on door handle available on Amazon offers a more permanent solution.
Today was my first time experiencing the frozen door handle of doom. @elonmusk can we add an option to open the door from the app? pic.twitter.com/t8eBWnWFZD

This simple plastic device gives your Tesla a more traditional door handle that you can easily grab onto. It comes in a set of four and attaches to the original door handles using a strip of 3M adhesive tape. It's recommended to not wash your vehicle for a few days after installation to allow the tape to bond properly. While it's not likely to last the life of your vehicle, these handles should hold up for at least one winter season.
The stick-on handles come in a variety of colors and cost between $30 and $50, depending on the seller. While reviews are limited, the basic concept appears to be effective. And while flush door handles have their benefits, such as reduced drag and an aerodynamic advantage, they can be a nuisance in the winter. These stick-on handles offer a simple and affordable way to fix that problem.
