A security camera captured the moment a silver Toyota sedan flipped inside a car wash after its 77-year-old driver accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake.

The accident occurred at the Wave Car Wash on Bethlehem Pike in Colmar, Montgomery County at around 2:30 PM. Local officials report that the driver remained trapped inside the car for an hour and a half before being rescued by emergency services and transported to a local hospital with an injured leg. Though his condition is stable, the Toyota sustained significant damage to the front right fender and is likely a total loss.

Meanwhile, Darin Kapanjie, who owns the business, released a statement about the crash:

"We are relieved that nobody was seriously injured. This was a severe accident that is extremely unfortunate for our customers, and our equipment. Being a small business owner isn't easy, accidents like this don't make it any easier. But hey, we have an amazing customer base that is committed to us as much as we are committed to them. We also have an amazing staff, great support team, and great connections in this amazing industry. We'll get through it together and end up on top. Again, we're just so happy nobody was seriously injured."

Another video captures the moment a vehicle is removed from a car wash after its roof was cut open to rescue the trapped driver. Hatfield Township fire marshal reports that this is an unprecedented incident for him.
