At the CES 2023 conference, Harman introduced a new lineup of augmented reality head-up displays and software designed to improve safety and awareness for drivers. Dubbed "Harman Ready Vision," the AR software works in conjunction with a vehicle's sensors to provide audio and visual alerts to the driver, providing important information in a timely and non-intrusive way.

Harman Ready Vision combines the physical and digital worlds by displaying turn-by-turn directions on the windshield, improving driver cognition. The technology also utilizes computer vision and machine learning to detect 3D objects, providing the driver with highly accurate, non-intrusive collision warnings, blind spot warnings, lane departure alerts, lane change assistance, and notifications for low speed zones.

“This launch is a key component of HARMAN’s mission to enhance the safety of drivers, passengers and pedestrians, while cultivating transformative in-cabin experiences,” said Armin Prommersberger, Senior Vice President of Product Management, HARMAN International. “Ready Vision solves key industry challenges around driver safety by helping drivers better understand their surroundings and enabling an eyes-forward, focused journey. Our new product empowers the driver with the right information at the right time, even in the most unfamiliar driving scenarios, making their time on the road more intuitive and safe.”

Harman Ready Vision utilizes advanced technology to display important information on the windshield and provide directional immersive audio alerts, helping drivers to keep their eyes on the road. Rather than requiring drivers to process data from multiple screens, the system provides real-time, contextually relevant points of interest such as street names and addresses. It also offers personalized updates to the driver based on their profile, interests, and preferences. The system's ultra-low latency visual and audio alerts also enhance the driver's ability to respond to various traffic prompts and conditions.
