The unveiling of the Project One concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2017 marked the start of a five-and-a-half-year journey for the brand, which finally unveiled the production version in June 2022. The Mercedes-AMG One, an F1-inspired hypercar, is limited to 275 units, all of which have been already sold.
The first One features a black exterior with Petronas green accents, white three-pointed stars in the rear section, a red tip on the roof scoop, and prominent white "AMG" lettering on the front grille.

It is not known who the first lucky owner of the AMG One is, but F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, and David Coulthard have all been reported to have purchased the car. In September 2017, when the Project One was first revealed, The Sun reported that Hamilton was expecting to take delivery of two cars, one of which he would gift to his father, Anthony. Other notable buyers of the car include real estate mogul Manny Khoshbin, actor Mark Wahlberg, and tennis star Ion Țiriac.
The AMG One is assembled at the automaker's facility in Coventry, UK, and features a hybrid powertrain with a turbocharged 1.6-liter V6 engine and four electric motors. The combustion engine revs up to 11,000 rpm and has to be rebuilt once every 50,000 kilometers (31,000 miles), but it is unlikely that many of the cars will see heavy usage.
