Ferrari and Harman, a Samsung-owned firm, have announced a collaboration to bring advanced technology to the cabins of Ferrari's future supercars.

Harman's "Ready Upgrade" hardware and software will allow Ferrari to quickly improve the in-cabin experiences across their lineup, including models such as the Roma and the new Purosangue. Additionally, Harman will serve as the official In-Cabin Experience Team partner for the Scuderia Ferrari Formula 1 team.

"Our partnership brings together two brands known for excellence and pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation," said Ferrari CEO, Benedetto Vigna. "We look forward to working with Harman to extend our in-cabin experience advantage and deliver to our customers a drive like no other"

While neither company has disclosed specific details on the features of the Ready Upgrade, Harman recently previewed several technologies at CES 2023 with a focus on safer driving. The Ready Upgrade system allows manufacturers to keep their vehicles up-to-date with contemporary technology, through an instrument cluster and infotainment stack, among other components. The system also allows for aging vehicles to be updated with a new generation of hardware every 1.5 to 2 years.

"Harman Automotive and Ferrari share an expertise, tenacity, and innovation mindset tailor-made for activating a new era of driving," said Harman's Christian Sobottka. "I have no doubt this combination will deliver experiences that will excite consumers and bring our value proposition of 'Consumer Experiences. Automotive Grade.' to life - on the track and the road."

One of the technologies previewed by Harman is "Ready Care", which serves as a driver-monitoring system, tracking eye movements, heart rate, and cognitive load. The in-cabin tech can even provide rest suggestions based on stress, distraction, and drowsiness levels. Harman compares a Ready Upgrade-equipped car to a smartphone, stating that it can be updated and personalized with new features and functions.
