Porsche owners of older 911, Boxster, and Cayenne models, rejoice! Porsche Classic has expanded its range of retrofitted infotainment systems that are now compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Porsche has made available an expanded range of its Porsche Classic Communication Management product for owners of certain older models, including the 911, Cayenne, and Boxster/Cayman. The retrofitted infotainment systems are compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and are designed to integrate seamlessly with the original components of the car, providing a "look and feel" as if they were factory-installed.

The new system, called Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus (PCCM Plus), is now available for model years 2005 to 2008 of the 997 generation 911 and the 987 Boxster/Cayman, and the 2003 to 2008 Cayenne. It replaces the previous Porsche Communication Management and CD/Radio systems used in the Boxster and Cayman.

The PCCM Plus comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, satellite radio compatibility for US and Canadian versions, a navigation system with Points of Interest specifically for Porsche owners, map updates, media playback via USB, and Bluetooth. 911 and Boxster/Cayman owners will be able to store personal preferences such as lights, windscreen wipers, climate control, and locking.

According to Ulrike Lutz, Director of Porsche Classic, there was a high demand for the networking of their timeless classics and that's why the company decided to significantly extend their range of Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus devices for retrofitting. The new PCCM Plus devices cost $1,475.99, while the map material is available separately. The devices can be ordered at Porsche dealerships, Porsche recommends a Porsche Classic Partner or an authorized dealership do the installation to get the most out of the system.
