The front of the X5 has undergone a significant revamp, with a more aggressive bumper and slimmed-down headlamps that align with the latest design language seen on BMW's refreshed X7 and facelifted 3 Series ranges. The front fascia is more angular and squared-off, with additional air vents and new trim. However, BMW has opted not to include split headlamps, instead opting for a more slender design with a new light pattern.
Around the back, the changes are less drastic, but still bring a modern touch to the X5. The taillight cluster is now fully red and no longer features a clear section for the turn signals and reverse lights, giving the lights an almost liquid effect. The X5 will also be available with a new wheel design, as seen in the leaked photos, featuring a bi-color, multi-spoke design.
2024 BMW X5 Facelift
Unfortunately, the leaked images do not include interior shots, leaving us to speculate on the changes made to the cabin. However, based on updates seen in other BMW models, we can expect to see minimalistic switchgear, a new steering wheel design, and potentially the smaller toggle-style gear lever found in modern BMW vehicles. The biggest update may come from the integration of BMW's Operating System 8 with a curved display, replacing the current setup with a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.9-inch infotainment touchscreen.
With a starting price of $61,600, the American-built X5 remains one of BMW's best-selling products in the United States. To keep buyers interested, BMW is expected to introduce additional technology, possibly borrowed from the range-topping 7 Series/i7 models. However, the revised X5 will have to contend with strong competition from Mercedes-Benz's upcoming GLE-Class facelift.
