BMW has teamed up with the "DFL Deutsche Fussball Liga" to launch a pilot program that brings Bundesliga content to the car manufacturer's new 7 Series vehicles. The app, which will be delivered over-the-air, will initially only be available in Germany, but will expand to other countries in Europe, America, and Asia in the future.

Customers will be able to access selected content from Germany's top football (read soccer) league, including highlight formats and match data, as well as some live content, via the BMW Curved Display. However, for safety reasons, the video content will only be viewable when the vehicle is stationary, but the audio stream of the content can be listened to while the car is in motion.

To use the app, customers will need to activate the Personal eSIM in their vehicle, which will then allow them to access high-speed 5G streaming via their personal mobile contract. The pilot program is set to run until March 31, 2024, and will be continuously improved throughout the test period.
