It seems that the changes to the ID.3 are minor, with tweaks limited to the front fascia. The honeycomb structure of the bumper has been removed, giving the EV a more conventional appearance similar to VW's combustion-engine cars. Additionally, the vertical air curtains have been redesigned to improve aerodynamics and efficiency.
Despite VW's claim that this will be a second-generation model, it appears to be a facelift rather than a complete overhaul. The interior of the vehicle remains largely unchanged, although the German automaker has announced plans to replace the 10-inch touchscreen with a larger 12-inch display. The center console will also include two cup holders, and there will be a removable compartment floor in the cargo area.

The 2023 ID.3 will also feature a higher-quality interior and improved software to address the issues that plagued the Golf Mk VIII at launch. The automaker is also planning to produce the ID.X hot hatch concept, which should appeal to enthusiasts.
Customers in Germany can expect to receive the updated version of the ID.3 in the fourth quarter of 2023, with prices starting at €43,995 in pre-configured Life, Business, Style, Max, and Tour trim levels. To meet strong demand, VW plans to assemble the EV in Wolfsburg in addition to the Zwickau and Dresden factories where production is currently taking place.
