Hyundai has announced its sales figures for 2022, with a 1.3% increase in deliveries to customers worldwide, reaching a total of 3,942,925 units. The South Korean automaker saw particularly strong sales in the last quarter of the year, with 1.04 million cars shipped, an 8.1% YoY increase.

The company's target for this year is even more ambitious, with plans to sell over 4.32 million cars. To achieve this goal, Hyundai will be investing KRW 10.5 trillion (approximately $8.5 billion) in capital expenditure, research and development, and strategic investments.

Hyundai also confirmed that several new products will be released in 2023, including the next-generation Kona EV, all-new Santa Fe, and the Ioniq 5 N. The Ioniq 6 sedan will also be gradually rolled out to other markets in the coming months, and additional SUVs and posh Genesis models are in the pipeline. A facelift for the i20 N has already been announced for a summer debut. However, there has been no word about the Ioniq 7, suggesting that we may only see the equivalent Kia EV9 this year.

Despite these plans for growth, Hyundai has acknowledged that supply bottlenecks, inflation, and fluctuation of interest rates will continue to be concerns in the coming year.
