Subaru is recalling 4,615 of its 2022 WRX vehicles due to incorrect information in the owner's manual, as per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The problem lies with the instructions for adjusting the high-beam assist sensitivity feature, part of EyeSight, which might not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
Only WRX vehicles with high-beam assist are included in the recall. The incorrect information referred to the operation of another type of dimmer switch. Subaru discovered the issue in October and took a couple of months to investigate before deciding to recall the vehicles. No related crashes or injuries have been reported.

To resolve the problem, affected owners will receive a corrected owner's manual insert from Subaru. Alternatively, they can visit a dealership to receive the insert. Notifications will be sent out to affected owners starting March 21.
The 2022 WRX boasts a turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer engine producing 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It offers six-speed manual or CVT transmission options and comes standard with features such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. The WRX starts at $30,605 for the base model and can reach over $50,000 for the fully-loaded GT trim.
