Lance Woelfer, Assistant Vice President of Honda Sales, told Automotive News that Honda’s dealers are asking for the company to continue focusing on sedan segments, as competitors have left the market, creating an opportunity for Honda.
"I think while our competitors may have gone in a different direction, it creates more opportunity for us to meet,” Woelfer added.
The new 2023 Accord, with starting prices ranging from $28,390 to $46,442, is available in both combustion and hybrid options, with Honda expecting half of the sedan’s sales to come from the hybrid grades. Honda predicts that the new Accord's sales will increase by 25% compared to 2022, and the automaker has the supply to meet customer demand.
Woelfer also confirmed that Honda plans to launch the Civic Hybrid in both sedan and hatchback forms next year.
