The GRMN is allegedly set to be based on Toyota's plug-in hybrid Prime variant, and will add an extra boost of power, chassis rigidity and bolstered suspension components in comparison to its standard brethren.
It's thought that this could allow the car to match the current level of performance seen in models like the GR Corolla, though it's not yet clear if the same hybrid engine (a 2.0L inline-four) will be used or whether an alternative option such as RAV4 Prime's 2.5L with its three electric motors will be employed instead.
Features exclusive to GRMN versions may also feature inside the car too, though it won't include a manual transmission. Its potential release date is currently estimated at somewhere between Q3 2023 and Q2 2024.
