BMW Group Polska has achieved its greatest success in the local government business after winning a tender for 503 BMW R 1250 RT-P motorcycles for the Polish police.

As part of the “Safer on the Roads” program, the Polish authorities purchased 503 BMW R 1250 RT-P motorcycles with specially configured police equipment and suits. 25 of them were sent to the police training center near Warsaw while the others are now in active service on Polish roads. The last shipment was officially handed over on November 24th.

Karol Kostrzewa, Director of BMW Motorrad Polska, expressed his delight at being trusted by such an important institution: “We are proud of the trust placed in us by the Polish police. We are delighted to be working with such an important institution”

BMW R 1250 RT-P

The BMW R 1250 RT-P is powered by a BMW ShiftCam boxer engine which offers two cylinders, air/liquid cooling, four stroke propulsion and produces 100 kW (136 HP) and 143 Nm of torque. It has a six-speed helical synchromesh gearbox and weighs 279 kg with a maximum speed of 200 km/h.
