Finland will send its 13th package of defence materiel to Ukraine, which includes three Leopard 2R mine clearing tanks. The decision was made by the President of the Republic on the proposal of the Government.

On the one-year anniversary of the start of Russia's war of aggression, Finland has decided to send another package of defence materiel to Ukraine. The aid package is valued at over EUR 160 million, and the combined value of all defence materiel packages submitted to Ukraine by Finland so far is EUR 750 million.

Three Leopard 2 mine clearing tanks will be included in the aid package. The Finnish government will give Ukraine training on how to use and take care of the tanks to ensure their effectiveness in clearing mines.

This aid package is part of Finland's international cooperation on Leopard armoured vehicles.

"Friday 24 February marks the one-year anniversary of the start of Russia’s war of aggression, and Ukraine continues to need support in its defence. We will send more defence materiel and participate in the Leopard cooperation together with our partners," says Minister of Defence Mikko Savola.

Due to operational reasons, more detailed information on the content of the assistance, manner of delivery, or schedule will not be provided. However, it is clear that Ukraine continues to need support in its defence against Russia's aggression, and Finland is committed to providing that support.
