Hyundai has unveiled the latest version of its compact sedan, the Elantra, in South Korea, where it is sold as the Avante. The 2024 model year sees minor styling updates to the vehicle, which was last redesigned in 2020.

The seventh-generation Elantra was launched in March 2020 and went on sale later that year. However, Hyundai has made some small revisions to the car's design with the new 2024 Avante, which has been previewed on the company's website in South Korea.

The most notable changes are at the front, where the Avante gets flatter headlights and a metallic bar stretching across the entire width of the grille. The grille has also been split into two by adding a body-colored element in the center, which makes it less obtrusive. Additionally, faux air intakes at the corners of the bumper lend the front fascia a sportier appearance.

At the back, the Elantra's taillights have been carried over, but there is a new bumper with a pseudo diffuser and a wide U-shaped silver element extending from one corner to the other. Glossy black surfaces are more prominent, and the red horizontal reflectors are slightly wider.

The side profile is largely unchanged, although there are new two-tone wheels, and the plastic panel at the C-pillar has a more intricate pattern now. The chrome beltline is also slightly thicker at the end. Inside, a new Sage Green theme with eco-friendly materials is the only novelty announced so far.

According to Hyundai's website in South Korea, this is a design preview of the 2024 Avante, which is also known as the i30 Sedan in some markets. As this is only a facelift, the technical specifications remain unclear. However, additional photos are expected to be published in the coming days.

Hyundai has a habit of updating its lineup rapidly, even when the current version is still fresh. The 2024 Avante demonstrates this approach, with its minor design updates aimed at keeping the model competitive in the crowded compact sedan segment. The 2024 Avante is set to go on sale later this year in South Korea and other markets.
