In a recent interview with Autocar, Jean-Philippe Imparato, Alfa Romeo's CEO, discussed the upcoming Giulia and endeavored to ease any doubts about its performance. This next generation car will pack an electric punch of 345 horsepower in its base model and up to 790hp in the more powerful Veloce version. But wait - there's even better news! The flagship Quadrifolio is set to deliver 1000 horses that are nearly double the current car's number.
The Quadrifolio, the most powerful version of this EV vehicle, is expected to be equipped with an all-wheel drive system similar to that used by Maserati's Granturismo Folgore. Three electric motors and torque vectoring capabilities will likely power it. Imparato suggests a range up to 435 miles -- equal in distance coverage as traditional combustion cars.
Alfa Romeo's CEO emphasized the significance of transforming into a fully electric company, noting that "we switch because we must - if not Alfa Romeo would be dead." He also was quick to reassure current owners of their car models and his mission in this transformation: "I don't want you to suffer from anything; I want you to love it."

In order to entice more buyers, the Giulia may shift its design from a sedan form to a fastback-style wagon. However, Imparato assures that it will remain “the Alfa Romeo we all want” despite this transformation.
By the mid-decade, Alfa Romeo plans to introduce their new Giulia model as part of its ultimate goal to become an entirely electric brand by 2027. This car is likely to be equipped with Stellantis' advanced 800V electrical system and run on the STLA platform, while providing exceptional performance levels that can be quickly charged in under 18 minutes (10 - 80%).
As we anticipate the arrival of the all-electric Alfa Romeo Giulia, let us not forget that its predecessor still remains. The Quadrifoglio and GTA/GTAm are some remarkable examples from this line.
